Giroud and Lloris win their first title together with Los Angeles FC

In the early hours of Thursday, September 26, the final match of the US Open Cup took place. Los Angeles FC faced Sporting Kansas City for the title.
The match was intense, with the winner only being decided after extra time. Early in the second half, French striker Olivier Giroud put Los Angeles ahead. However, just seven minutes later, Kansas City equalized.
The game went into extra time, where only Los Angeles players found the back of the net. Omar Campos and Kei Kamara each scored, securing the title for their team. This marks Los Angeles' first-ever US Open Cup victory.
Notably, this title is the first for both Olivier Giroud and Hugo Lloris with Los Angeles FC. A reminder that both Frenchmen joined the team in 2024.
