Dominik Livaković failed to establish himself as Girona’s first-choice goalkeeper and decided to leave the Spanish side in search of regular playing time.
Details: Girona officially announced that Livaković is leaving the club and returning to Fenerbahçe. The Croatian goalkeeper is owned by the Turkish giants.
Quote: "FC Girona and Fenerbahçe have reached an agreement on the early termination of Dominik Livaković’s loan. The Croatian goalkeeper arrived at Montilivi last summer from the Turkish club," the club said in a statement.
We previously reported that the deal for the goalkeeper’s move from Turkish side Fenerbahçe to Dinamo Zagreb had been fully agreed: all documents were prepared and signed by both parties.
It should be noted that the Croatian spent the first half of the season in La Liga with Girona but did not play a single match for them. Transfermarkt currently values the Croatian at €4 million.
Reminder: Marc-André ter Stegen wrote a letter to Barcelona fans after his move to Girona.
