Girona FC and Panathinaikos reach an agreement for Azzedine Ounahi

The Moroccan international is reportedly set to return to Greece on a one-season loan with an obligation to buy for 25 million euros.

According to reports, an agreement has been reached between Girona FC and Panathinaikos for the Moroccan international’s return to Greece, just over a year after his move to Catalonia from Marseille. The deal is said to have been finalised as a paid loan with a mandatory buy-out clause set at 25 million euros.

In terms of wages, Azzedine Ounahi is set to earn €2.7 million a year with the Greek club, where he had previously been on loan from Marseille during the 2024–2025 season. The Greek club is now keen to finalise the deal quickly so that it can register Azzedine Ounahi on its UEFA squad list for its European campaign in the Conference League.

This potential return of the midfielder to Panathinaikos would come after a standout 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign with the Atlas Lions.
