Barcelona's defensive midfielder Oriol Romeu is likely to depart the club this summer.

However, there is a chance that he won't have to move far. According to Football-Espana, Girona, the Catalan club, is keen on re-signing their former player.

Besiktas from Turkey is also interested in securing the midfielder's signature. However, the offer from the Istanbul-based club falls significantly below Barcelona's expectations.

Romeu prefers to stay in Spain and in La Liga, making Girona's chances of negotiating a transfer quite promising.

It's worth noting that Romeu moved to Barcelona from Girona last summer, with the Blaugranas paying less than four million euros for the player.

Under Xavi Hernandez's leadership, the 32-year-old Spaniard has featured in 32 matches across all competitions for Barcelona, providing one assist.
