Gimnasia Set to Sign Zalazar in Complex Three-Way Deal

Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata are finalizing their first reinforcement ahead of the upcoming Clausura tournament. As reported by El Día, 24-year-old winger Maximiliano Zalazar is expected to join the club in a deal involving Boca Juniors, who own his rights, and Tigre, where he was on loan but saw limited playing time.
Zalazar will terminate his loan at Tigre, with Boca agreeing to send him on a one-year loan to Gimnasia, including a purchase option. Head coach Alejandro Orfila, who previously worked with the player at Barracas Central, specifically requested his arrival to fill a position identified as a priority by the coaching staff.
Despite receiving interest from a club in Greece, Zalazar opted to remain in Argentina and link up with Orfila once again. His arrival is seen as a key piece in a squad looking to strengthen its offensive depth.
The team continues its preseason work at the Estancia Chica training ground. Gimnasia have scheduled a series of friendlies: the first on June 21, followed by two matches between June 24 and 28, and a final test against Argentinos Juniors on July 5.
