Gift to their rivals: Chelsea and Arsenal did not determine the strongest one
In the marquee matchup of the Premier League’s 11th round, Chelsea and Arsenal played to a draw, leaving no clear winner in London’s derby clash.
The first half saw both teams play with intensity, yet clear scoring chances were rare. Kai Havertz managed to find the back of the net, but his goal was disallowed for offside after a VAR review.
However, the second half brought some scoring action. In the 60th minute, Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard, returning to the starting lineup after injury, delivered a pinpoint cross to Gabriel Martinelli at the far post, who finished sharply from a tight angle, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.
Just ten minutes later, Arsenal's midfield let Pedro Neto slip through, and he capitalized with a superb strike from outside the box, hitting it just under the crossbar.
Arsenal’s winless streak in the Premier League now stretches to four matches. They sit fourth with 19 points, while Chelsea, also on 19 points, takes third due to a superior goal difference.
