Ghana Premier League: Medeama Officially Sign Usman Safianu on Two-Year Deal
Medeama Sporting Club have completed the signing of highly rated attacking midfielder Usman Safianu on a two-year contract following the expiration of his deal with Hohoe United.
The talented playmaker arrives in Tarkwa after an impressive 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign, during which he captained Hohoe United and established himself as one of the league's standout midfielders.
Safianu was one of the most sought-after free agents in Ghana this transfer window, attracting interest from several top-flight clubs before deciding to continue his career with the reigning Ghana Premier League champions.
Speaking after putting pen to paper, Safianu admitted that selecting his new club was one of the most difficult decisions he has had to make.
"This wasn't an easy decision for me and my team. We carefully considered every option because there was genuine interest from some of the biggest clubs in Ghana. It eventually came down to two great institutions— Medeama Sporting Club and one of two most well accomplished clubs in Ghana."
