Ghana Premier League: Ibrahim Tanko Appointed Medeama SC Head Coach, Aims for Trophies
Ibrahim Tanko has signed two and half year deal to become Medeama Sporting Club's new head coach. On Wednesday, January 29, the Ghana Premier League team made the news.
Tanko, who formerly served as Accra Lions' technical director and head coach of Ghana's U23 squad, is thrilled about the chance to join Medeama SC. In his first interview with Medi TV, he promised to give his best and lead the team to success.
"I'll always give my best, and I’m confident the fans will be happy with the results," said Tanko, who's determined to win more trophies for the club.
He went on to say, "Medeama's one of the biggest clubs in the Africa, and I believe I can help the team achieve even greater success," referring to the club's solid infrastructure and history.
Tanko, who has also coached in Germany and Japan and worked with Cameroon's national team, Ghana's Black Stars, takes Evans Adotey's position as temporary manager. Adotey'l take up his previous role as technical director once more.
On Sunday, February 2, Tanko'l take on Legon Cities FC in the GPL for his debut game as manager.
