Ghana Premier League: Asante Kotoko Tops League After 1-0 Win Over Karela United

Asante Kotoko moved to the top of the Ghana Premier League after defeating Karela United 1–0 at Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday. Captain Justice Blay’s second half penalty was the difference, following a foul on Baba Yahaya in the box.

Kotoko who struggled early in the season with 5 winless games, have found their form, winning 6 of their last 7 matches. Despite dominating possession 57%, they were unable to break down the well organized Karela defense.

Karela, who're still at the bottom of the standings, only had 1 shot on goal and will need to improve to avoid relegation. Kotoko who're currently 1 point ahead of Nsoatreman, will try to sustain their momentum in their forthcoming meeting.
