Getafe Ready to Welcome Christantus Uche Back as Crystal Palace Future Remains Uncertain
President of Getafe CF, Ángel Torres, has confirmed the club is open to reintegrating Nigerian midfielder Christantus Uche into their first-team squad this summer as doubts grow over his long-term future at Crystal Palace.
Uche joined the Premier League side in September 2025 on a season-long loan deal from the La Liga club. The agreement reportedly included a conditional obligation to buy worth around €20 million, depending on certain performance-related conditions.
However, the 22-year-old midfielder has struggled to establish himself at Selhurst Park under Palace manager Oliver Glasner. As of March 2026, Uche has yet to make a single league start for the Eagles, casting doubt on whether the English club will trigger the permanent transfer clause.
Speaking during a club event, Torres admitted that the situation remains open while emphasizing that Uche still has a future at Getafe if a sale does not materialize.
“He has offers from other countries outside the Premier League, and he’ll decide,” Torres told reporters. “That, or he can come back; he has three years left on his contract. We’d be delighted if he returned if he can’t be sold.”
