Germany won the United Cup 2024

The German team won the United Cup team tennis tournament held in Australia. The Poles were defeated by Germany in two out of three matches in the final.

In the first game of the day, Poland's Iga Świątek defeated Germany's Angelique Kerber in two sets. The match lasted only 72 minutes and the second set ended 6-0.

Then the men took to the court: Hubert Hurkacz and Alexander Zverev. In the second set, Hurkacz had two match points on a tiebreak, but he failed to convert them. Zverev won three games in a row to take the second set. In the deciding game, Alexander Zverev was stronger.

The winner of the main title was determined in the doubles match. Iga Świątek and Hubert Hurkacz lost in three sets to Laura Siegemund and Alexander Zverev.

Germany on its way to winning the tournament defeated Italy and France in the group stage, and then Greece and Australia in the playoffs.

Recall that the current draw of the United Cup was the second in the history of the tournament. A year ago, the victory was celebrated by the USA team, which defeated Italy in the final.
