Germany classily outplays Hungary to become the first participant in the Euro 2024 playoffs

Hosts of Euro 2024, the German national team, played their second group stage match against Hungary.

Germany started the match more actively, controlled possession, and dominated on the football field. However, Hungary defended well, and Germany had fewer clear scoring opportunities. Moreover, Hungary responded intermittently with dangerous attacks. Nonetheless, the hosts of Euro scored first in the match. Ilkay Gündogan fought hard until the end, won the ball, and provided an assist to Jamal Musiala, who scored into an empty net - 1:0.

Hungary responded with two good chances, but Manuel Neuer and some luck helped the German team. As a result, the first half ended with Germany's minimal lead of 1:0.

After the break, Germany continued to dominate on the field and doubled their advantage in the 67th minute. Ilkay Gündogan recorded both the assist and the goal - 2:0.

Hungary did not create any opportunities near Manuel Neuer's goal in the second half. Germany secured a convincing 2:0 victory, becoming the first team to advance to the playoffs of Euro 2024.
