George Matlou talks about his future with Kaizer Chiefs


Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Matlou has spoken about his future with the club and whether he wants to continue his career with the club or will decide to leave the Soweto giants at the end of the season.
The skilled midfielder is supposed to decide his future at the end of the season along with a host of other Amakhosi players, after the Nedbank Cup title, it would be natural for the management to look for reinforcements for next season especially if Nasreddine Nabi, who is also rumored to be staying with the team, is to remain.

As the season nears its conclusion, Kaizer Chiefs defender Matlou has openly expressed his desire to extend his stay at the club beyond his current contract, which expires in June 2025.
"I would love to stay at Kaizer Chiefs—it’s my priority," Matlou told FARPost. "This club means a lot to me, and I want to achieve even more here. But right now, the focus is on finishing the season strong—maximizing points and, of course, winning the Nedbank Cup."
His dream turned into reality when Amakhosi clinched the Nedbank Cup, with Matlou’s joy spilling over into the days that followed. Videos and photos of him still wearing his matchday kit and proudly showing off his winner’s medal at the airport went viral, capturing the hearts of fans.
