The captain of the Central African Republic national team has spoken out, stating that he never refused to take part in the squad gathering for the FIFA window.

In a statement on his Instagram, the Central African international revealed that he had simply not been called up for the March 2026 FIFA window. Visibly disappointed at not being able to play in front of the fans, Geoffroy Kondogbia says he is unaware of the reasons for his exclusion. Despite this situation, the captain reaffirms his commitment to the national team and his determination to continue serving his country with pride as soon as the opportunity arises.

As captain, I am still unaware of the nature of this decision. Not being able to play in front of our fans, after many years of absence, during this significant week for our country, is a profound disappointment for me. Despite this, my commitment to the national team remains total. My attachment to the Fauves is undiminished and my mission remains the same: to contribute positively to the team and to represent our nation’s colours with pride whenever the opportunity arises. I thank the Central African people for their constant support and loyalty.
