Genoa's Coach Explains Need for Mario Balotelli

Genoa's head coach, Alberto Gilardino, has clarified why he believes controversial Italian forward Mario Balotelli is essential for the team.

Quote: “The club knows my thoughts on this matter. I know this player well. He is someone who, in my opinion, possesses the motivation and fire that we need for success. We are a bit behind, considering the objective problems we have in certain areas,” said the coach.

Previously, reports indicated that Balotelli was close to signing a contract with Genoa. However, the "Grifons" have not yet finalized their plans for strengthening their attack, as several other prominent candidates are also under consideration.

Reminder: It was earlier reported that Genoa had agreed to a contract with Balotelli until the end of the season, with a salary of €250,000.

Balotelli had previously turned down several foreign offers, as his main goal was to continue his career in his home country’s Serie A.
