Gauff defeated the Australian Open semifinalist and advanced to the Round of 16 at the French Open

World No. 3 Coco Gauff has confidently advanced to the Round of 16 at the 2024 French Open.

In her third-round match, the American tennis star defeated the surprising Australian Open 2024 semifinalist Dayana Yastremska, who is ranked 32nd in the world.

In the first set, Gauff dominated completely, winning 6-2. However, in the second set, Yastremska managed to put up a fight, breaking Gauff's serve twice, but still lost 4-6.

The match lasted a total of 1 hour and 36 minutes.

In the Round of 16, Gauff will face the world No. 51, Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto.
