American tennis player Coco Gauff has become the first semifinalist of Roland Garros 2024.
In the first quarterfinal match of the day, the world’s third-ranked player triumphed over Tunisia's Ons Jabeur, who holds the 11th position in the global rankings, in three sets.
Gauff was on the brink of elimination, having lost the first set to Jabeur 4-6.
However, the young American then seized complete control of the match. She dominated the second set, winning it 6-2 without giving her opponent any chances. The decisive set saw Gauff clinch victory with a 6-3 scoreline.
