Gasperini credits his team's successes to the Nigerian player

Complementing the great work that Ademola Lookman is doing with Atalanta, the Nigerian player was nominated to be in fourteenth place in the ranking of the African Golden Ball award.

Italian coach Gian Piero Gasperini has praised his Nigerian player Lookman for the past two years. From the time Ademola made his debut for Atalanta, the team reached the final of the Italian Cup, achieved the Europa League and played the European Super Final against Real Madrid. The team is now second in the overall standings after Inter Milan by a point.

Ahead of the upcoming Roma clash on Monday, Gasperini spoke about his outstanding player, saying: “We are in a good period of form in Italy and Europe. I’m happy with the performances and results we are getting. Winning the Europa League last season helped us grow in confidence and self-belief, Many new players have arrived and are improving, but it was last season’s success, driven by players like Lookman, that set the tone”

Atalanta are the highest scoring team in the league this season, and Lookman has scored 11 of these goals.
