Gary Lineker played snooker with seven-time world champion Stephen Hendry
Former football star Gary Lineker showcased his skills in another sport. The Englishman participated in the YouTube show of snooker star Stephen Hendry, Cue Tips, during which they played snooker.
In the game against Hendry, Gary stood no chance; the multiple world champion won all the rounds, but the conversation at the table during the match was even more captivating.
Lineker admitted that he used to regularly step up to the green baize and got into snooker during his youth at the age of 16. He had to give up regular play at the billiard table after moving to Barcelona, where there was a shortage of snooker tables.
"There was one snooker table in the Spanish town but it was in a bar and it was busy. And it was in the time they smoked inside and everyone used the pockets of the table as an ashtray," Lineker stated.
It is worth noting that Hendry shares the top spot with Ronnie O'Sullivan for the number of World Championships won in the modern era. He dominated the 90s, securing seven victories over the decade. His first title was claimed in 1990, and the last in 1999.
