The Malian international had been sidelined since injuring himself at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

However, he finally seems to be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. After suffering a sprained right ankle at the end of December 2025 during a training session with the Mali national team, the 23-year-old winger was unable to continue in the tournament.

He was forced to withdraw. Since then, Gaoussou Kyassou Diarra has not played. He has been away from the pitch for over a month. But the good news is that he rejoined his Feyenoord Rotterdam teammates on Wednesday 11 February 2026. The player trained with the group and could resume competition with his Dutch club.
