Former Chelsea and Lens player Gaël Kakuta has officially joined Sakaryaspor, a club in Turkey’s First League. However, his new team decided to introduce him in a spectacular way, releasing an announcement video inspired by the legendary series Game of Thrones, Sakaryaspor’s Instagram reveals.

In the video, Kakuta appears in full armor, wielding two swords and carrying a shield adorned with the club’s crest. He walks through the ruins of a fortress, seemingly devastated by a deadly battle, before placing a golden crown on his head.

Sakaryaspor is the 14th club in Kakuta’s career. The Frenchman has had an eventful journey, previously playing for Chelsea, Lens, Vitesse, Rayo Vallecano, and others. Over the years, he has represented clubs in seven different countries—England, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, China, and Iran.

Despite the creative signing announcement, Sakaryaspor faces a battle for survival in the Turkish First League, currently sitting 16th, just one point above the relegation zone. The club last played in the Turkish Süper Lig in 2006 and has spent 11 seasons in the country’s top division.
