Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek Provides Fresh Update on Victor Osimhen Injury
Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek has shared an important update on the condition of star striker Victor Osimhen, who picked up an injury while on international duty with the Super Eagles during their World Cup playoff defeat to DR Congo.
The 26-year-old forward was forced off in the first half of Nigeria’s tense 2026 World Cup playoff match, raising concerns for both club and country.
Speaking on HT Spor, Özbek offered clarity on the situation and reassured fans about the striker’s recovery timeline.
“Osimhen will undergo a recovery period of about two weeks,” Özbek confirmed, via Habersarikirmizi. “Our priority is to have him ready for the Fenerbahçe match, and our medical team is working intensely toward that goal.”
Based on the club’s timeline, Osimhen is expected to return in time for the high-profile clash with Fenerbahçe on December 1, 2026. However, his rehabilitation schedule means he will sit out Galatasaray’s upcoming matches against Gençlerbirliği in the Turkish Super Lig and Union Saint-Gilloise in the UEFA Champions League.
