Galatasaray Coach Addresses Hakim Ziyech Transfer Rumors Amid Saudi Links
Galatasaray's coach, Okan Buruk, has finally spoken about the rumors linking Moroccan player Hakim Ziyech to a possible transfer to Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia. These rumors became more believable after a well known Turkish journalist, Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, said that Ziyech is getting a lot of attention from clubs in the Saudi Pro League.
In a press conference, Buruk commented, “Will Ziyech feature in the starting lineup? There’s strong competition across all positions right now, and Hakim has his chance like anyone else.” He added, “Transfer market news doesn’t concern us at the moment. Transfers are not our immediate priority, and it’s too early to discuss such matters.”
Ziyech, 30, has had a marked decline in form since the start of the season and has battled to establish himself in Galatasaray's starting lineup. Buruk is still willing to give him chances depending on his performance, though.
Since joining the Turkish powerhouse during the most recent winter transfer window, the Moroccan winger, who has a contract with Galatasaray through June 2025, has made 30 appearances and provided eight goals and five assists. However, sources indicate that as Saudi Arabia's interest grows, his exit from the club may be imminent.
As rumors concerning Ziyech's future persist, his attention will stay on establishing himself in Istanbul for the time being.
