Gabriel Milito has replaced Scolari as the head coach of Atletico Mineiro

Argentinian coach Gabriel Milito has been appointed as the head coach of the Atletico Mineiro club. This was announced on the official website of the Brazilian Serie A club. Milito has signed a contract until the end of December 2025. His previous coaching position was at Argentinos Juniors, where he worked from January 2021 to September 2023.

Milito replaces the renowned Luis Felipe Scolari, whose departure was announced earlier this week. The new coach will make his debut on March 30 when Atletico Mineiro faces Cruzeiro in the first match of the Minas Gerais State Championship final.

The new season of the Brazilian Serie A begins in mid-April, and the Copa Libertadores tournament starts in early May, where Atletico Mineiro, as the third-place finisher in the previous Serie A season, will also participate.
