Gabon National Team and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Reinstated After AFCON 2025 Early Exit

The Gabonese Football Federation (Fégafoot) has officially lifted the suspension on both the national football team and striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who were previously dismissed following Gabon’s disappointing early exit from AFCON 2025.

In a formal statement released on Monday, January 12, 2026, Fégafoot confirmed the reinstatement of the team and highlighted steps being taken to ensure a stronger future.

“The Gabonese Football Federation informs the national and international sporting public of the lifting this Monday, January 12, 2026, of the government measures that suspended the national team and the exclusion of players Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bruno Ecuele Manga following the insufficient results of the national team at the AFCON,” the statement read.
