Future decided! Lazio make key decision on Mussolini's great-grandson
Lazio's management intends to tie the club's long-term future to one of its most talked-about academy graduates.
Details: According to renowned insider Fabrizio Romano, 23-year-old right-back Romano Floriani Mussolini is one step away from signing a new contract with the Rome-based club.
The new deal with the Italian defender will run until the summer of 2029 and include an option to extend it for another season. The two sides have agreed on virtually all the key terms, so official confirmation is expected very soon.
Floriani Mussolini is a product of the Biancocelesti academy and has steadily gained experience through loan spells in recent years. Last season, 2025/26, the defender played in the top flight for Cremonese, while a year earlier he impressed in Serie B with Juve Stabia.
After returning to Rome, the player made his Lazio first-team debut in Serie A in August of this year against Bologna (1-0), proving his credentials to the capital club's coaching staff.
It is worth noting that during the 2025/26 season, the defender made 28 Serie A appearances for Cremonese. According to the authoritative Transfermarkt portal, the footballer's current market value is €5 million.
