Fury was advised to learn an important lesson after defeat to Usyk
In the first fight for the undisputed world championship between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury, many observers noted that the British fighter, as usual, didn't take his opponent seriously, performing somewhat lackadaisically in the ring—a mistake that cost him his belts. This has been a key point raised by numerous experts.
Top Rank promoter Todd DuBoef hopes that Fury has learned from the first fight and will approach the rematch with a more serious attitude:
"In those middle rounds, it seemed like he was just teeing off on him, and I think he got a little lackadaisical and overconfident. I think he learned a lesson, and it was a hard lesson. But I also believe the other guy will be better this time because he’s gained more confidence.
I think Fury’s personality and the way he is in the ring, that’s just his nature. But I believe he won’t take things for granted this time and has learned a tough lesson," DuBoef told *Sky Sports Boxing*.
It's worth noting that in the rematch, Usyk and Fury will no longer be competing for the undisputed world championship. Due to delays in the first fight, the Ukrainian fighter was unable to defend his IBF world title on time, and that belt now belongs to Daniel Dubois.
