Further without Sabalenko. Women's Roland Garros semi-final pairs determined
On Wednesday, June 5th, all semifinal pairs of the Roland Garros women's tennis tournament were determined.
The stage witnessed some surprises as well. The world's second-ranked player, Aryna Sabalenka, failed to advance to the semifinals. In the quarterfinals, she faced the 38th-ranked player, 17-year-old Mirra Andreava. Sabalenka took the first set in a tie-breaker 7-6, but subsequently lost in two sets with identical scores of 4-6.
Mirra Andreava defeated the world's second-ranked player 2-1 and advanced to the semifinals of Roland Garros. Besides her, the semifinalists include: Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, and Jasmina Paolini.
Thus, the semifinal pairs have shaped up as follows:
- Swiatek vs Gauff
- Paolini vs Andreava
Both matches will be played on Thursday, June 6th, and afterward, we will know the finalists of the prestigious Roland Garros tournament.
