Fulham may need to spend around ₦47.2 billion to keep Samuel Chukwueze permanently, as the Premier League side weigh up whether to trigger their €28 million option to buy from AC Milan.

Chukwueze has looked reborn since arriving on deadline day, delivering five goal contributions — two goals and three assists — in his last six Premier League matches. His performances suggest he is close to his best again after struggling for form and minutes in Italy.

If Fulham activate the clause, the Nigerian winger would become one of the club’s most expensive signings, sitting behind Kevin, Emile Smith Rowe, Jean Michaël Seri and Joachim Andersen.

The 2015 U17 World Cup winner has also earned major praise for his impact. He was named Royal Caribbean Legend of the Match for an assist against Sunderland and later won Premier League Player of the Match after another assist in the win over Tottenham Hotspur.

Chukwueze will have two years left on his AC Milan contract at season’s end.
