Fulham board dissatisfied. Marco Silva's future at the club in serious doubt
Fulham’s board is considering parting ways with head coach Marco Silva after the team slipped to just one point above the Premier League relegation zone.
Details: According to TeamTalk, tensions are mounting within the club: the Cottagers have had a lackluster start to the season, winning only three of their first eleven games and losing their latest fixture 0-2 to Everton. Despite the board’s desire to keep him since the summer, the Portuguese boss has yet to agree to a contract extension.
Silva’s current deal includes a release clause of around £15 million. He previously attracted interest from Nottingham Forest, but talks never materialized. If no agreement is reached, the 48-year-old coach could leave Fulham at the end of the season as a free agent.
Silva has been at the helm since July 2021, guiding Fulham into the Premier League and securing 90 wins in 198 matches. Nevertheless, club vice-chairman Tony Khan and other executives are increasingly discussing the prospect of a managerial change, fearing the team could be dragged into a relegation battle.
At present, the Cottagers have collected 11 points from 11 matches and sit 15th in the Premier League table.
