The Cobblers released a statement confirming that the investment group Sports Alpha Capital (SAC), which includes the 37-year-old former forward, has cleared the proposed acquisition of a stake in the club following thorough scrutiny by the Independent Football Regulator (IFR) and the English Football League (EFL).

Sports Alpha Capital previously explored an investment in Colchester United before turning their attention toward the Cobblers. Having passed the stringent Owners and Directors test under the sport's new regulatory regime, Pato and his partners are set to assume active leadership roles at Sixfields Stadium.

The former Brazilian wonderkid, who retired from professional football after concluding his career in his homeland, aims to utilize his extensive worldwide connections to modernize the club's sporting infrastructure and talent recruitment.

It is worth noting that Alexandre Pato enjoyed an illustrious playing career, netting 63 goals in 150 appearances for AC Milan while winning the Serie A title in 2011 and earning 27 senior caps for Brazil.
