French Ligue 1 responds to Ronaldo's criticism with sarcastic post about Messi
Cristiano Ronaldo, who claimed that the level of football in Ligue 1 is lower than in the Saudi Pro League, received an unexpected response from the French league. The legendary Portuguese player was trolled with a post on social media.
Details. The official Ligue 1 social media account gave a sharp response to Ronaldo’s remarks. In response to the 39-year-old footballer’s harsh comments, the official Ligue 1 account posted a photo of Lionel Messi holding the World Cup trophy and the "Best Player of the Tournament" award.
The image was accompanied by the caption: "Lionel Messi plays in 38-degree temperatures" — a reference to Ronaldo’s comments about wanting to see Ligue 1 players perform under similar conditions.
Reminder. This week, the Portuguese footballer made headlines for several reasons. At the Globe Soccer Awards ceremony, he stated that Vinícius Júnior should have won the "Ballon d'Or." However, his most attention-grabbing remarks were about football in Saudi Arabia being better than in France.
