Free transfer bombshell! Ajax snaps up Borussia star

Ajax has landed the experienced playmaker without paying a transfer fee.

Details: According to renowned insider Fabrizio Romano, Ajax have secured the signature of 30-year-old German midfielder Julian Brandt. The agreement will keep the player at the Amsterdam club until June 2029.

Fabrizio Romano also reports that a move for Marc-André ter Stegen to Ajax is in the works.

Brandt joined Ajax as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Borussia Dortmund. The attacking midfielder had played for the German club since 2019 after previously representing Bayer Leverkusen.

Last season, the German midfielder made 41 appearances for Borussia across all competitions, scoring 11 goals and providing 4 assists.

It's worth noting that over his seven-year stint in Dortmund, Julian Brandt featured in 307 matches, tallying 57 goals and 70 assists.
