Frank Lampard Explains Possible Delay to Frank Onyeka’s Coventry City Debut

Coventry City head coach Frank Lampard has suggested that Frank Onyeka’s debut for the club could be pushed back due to family reasons, with the midfielder’s wife close to giving birth.

Onyeka, who joined Coventry from Brentford on deadline day, has trained with the squad and made a positive early impression. However, Lampard admitted the timing of the expected arrival may affect the Nigerian’s availability for Saturday’s fixture.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph, Lampard praised Onyeka’s attitude and smooth integration into the team.

“His wife’s due to have a baby at any moment so that’s obviously a big positive for him but we have to keep an eye on that in terms of this weekend. But it’s been great to have him in. He’s very humble, has a very nice way about him on and off the pitch. He’s been very seamless to join the group.”
