Fousseyni Diawara officially announces his candidacy for the role of Mali manager
The former Mali international is no longer hiding his ambitions for the Eagles.
It’s now official! Fousseyni Diawara wants to take the reins of the Malian national team. Following rumours that he was the favourite for the job, Diawara has himself confirmed that he is standing as a candidate. He wants to take over from Tom Saintfiet, who was sacked a few days ago by the Malian Football Federation.
Speaking to Canal+ Sport Afrique, the Malian clearly expressed his desire to lead the Mali Eagles. He is counting on his experience on the coaching staff of the Malian and Guinean national teams. Fousseyni Diawara states that his coaching team is ready and his application will soon be submitted to the governing body of Malian football.
I would like to reiterate my desire to secure the position of Mali’s head coach. I have been working with the national team for several years. I am ready and I have an experienced coaching staff. My application will be in the federation’s hands very soon.
