Fousseni Diawara tipped to succeed Tom Saintfiet
Mali on the hunt for a new manager
The former Mali international is reportedly the frontrunner to take the reins of the Mali national team.
The Malian Football Federation has issued a call for applications to find a successor to Tom Saintfiet. The governing body of Malian football parted ways with the Belgian coach this Wednesday 29 April.
However, sources believe that one candidate is being particularly targeted for the head coach role. That person is Fousseni Diawara, a former Malian international defender. His experience at the helm of Mali’s U23 national team and as Guinea’s assistant coach is said to be one of the factors making him the favourite.
