Former TP Mazembe Optimistic About His Club Future Despite Champions League Struggles
Former TP Mazembe defender, Richard Kissi Boateng, has praised the club as one of Africa’s top teams, despite their difficult start to the 2024/25 CAF Champions League. After three matches, the Lubumbashi-based side has drawn two and lost one, placing them third in Group A with 3 points, seven behind leaders Al Hilal.
Kissi Boateng, who was a member of TP Mazembe from 2013 to 2016, emphasized the club's outstanding financial stability and structure. He underlined that players receive first-rate assistance, which includes significant allowances and private planes. "You'll have the best experience in Africa if you travel with the club," he remarked.
Kissi Boateng is upbeat despite their present difficulties, citing the team's excellent preparation and hiring of young players as reasons. He thinks another African championship will soon be won by TP Mazembe. He went on to say, "They are a well-organized team, and their future is bright." TP Mazembe is in third place in the DR Congo division, right behind the top two teams.
