One of the last champions of the 2012 European Championship with the Spanish national team will no longer play football.

Details: Today, 39-year-old Álvaro Negredo officially announced his retirement.

On his social media page on X, Negredo posted a video from the locker room, symbolically taking off his boots and hanging them up.

“Thank you for everything, football,” Negredo captioned his video.

Álvaro Negredo is a product of the Real Madrid academy. He is best known for his performances with Sevilla, Manchester City, Valencia, and Middlesbrough.

Negredo's last clubs were Cádiz and Valladolid. Since last summer, he had been a free agent.
