Monaco won its last Ligue 1 title under Portuguese coach Leonardo Jardim, but he is in no hurry to return to Europe. Instead, he is embarking on a new chapter in his career.

Details: After four years in the Middle East, Jardim has taken over as the head coach of Brazilian club Cruzeiro, turning down an offer from Al Ain. The 50-year-old Portuguese manager has signed a contract with the Brazilian football giant until the end of 2026.

Reminder: In Europe, besides Monaco, Jardim also coached several Portuguese clubs, most notably Braga and Sporting, as well as Greek side Olympiacos.

The 2025 Série A season in Brazil has yet to begin. In the previous campaign, Cruzeiro finished ninth, missing out on a Copa Libertadores qualification spot by six points.
