Players with a South African passport don't always make it to European championships, let alone the top leagues. However, Kaizer Chiefs defender Siyabonga Ngezana managed to do just that, moving to Romanian FCSB in the summer of 2023. The player himself believes he will set an example for others.

Details: Ngezana, who has played matches this season against the likes of Manchester United, stated that the Romanian championship is a good springboard for a further European career, and South Africa has a wealth of talent that could thrive here.

Quote: “I hope I inspire players in our league to seek opportunities in Romania and other European countries. As I said, I hope that being here in Romania will inspire players from South Africa to come here as well.

There is so much talent in South Africa, and I know that players can achieve great success in this league. Therefore, I hope that other players will have the courage to come here and showcase their talent, which will open more doors for many other players to play in Europe,” said Ngezana in an interview with FARPost.
