Former France international and ex-Marseille midfielder Samir Nasri was taken into police custody as part of an investigation into alleged financial crimes.
Details: According to Le Parisien, the former footballer was detained as part of a money laundering investigation linked to an organised criminal group involved in illegal drug trafficking.
Nasri spent around ten hours in custody and was questioned by investigators before being released on Thursday, 9 July. At this stage, no formal charges have been brought against him.
Samir Nasri retired from professional football in 2021. In addition to playing for Arsenal and Manchester City, he also represented Marseille, Sevilla, Antalyaspor, West Ham United and Anderlecht.
