The former striker for Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions has taken a new step in his coaching career.

The French club Dunkerque, currently in Ligue 2, announced on Thursday 29 October his appointment as head coach of the first team, following the departure of Albert Sánchez. Previously assistant manager, Pierre Achille Webo will take on this role “until further notice”, the club stated.

This appointment marks an important milestone for the former Indomitable Lions striker, as it is his first experience as head coach of a professional side. Pierre Achille Webo will take charge of his first match on the Dunkerque bench on Friday 30 October, when they face Rodez in their French Ligue 2 matchday 11 fixture.

Having served as an assistant coach since turning out as a player, Webo is now stepping into the spotlight. The former Cameroonian international now has the opportunity to prove himself.
