Former Brazil national team player arrested. What are the charges?
Former Brazil national team footballer Jadson has been arrested in the city of Cambé in southern Brazil on suspicion of domestic violence. The incident reportedly took place during an argument with his wife.
According to Globo Esporte, the woman stated that Jadson grabbed her by the neck with both hands and attempted to strangle her. Law enforcement found marks on her neck consistent with the alleged assault. The woman also claimed this was not the first such incident.
Jadson was taken to the police station and then transferred to the Cambé state prison. The ex-footballer has been formally charged with domestic violence, bodily harm, and verbal abuse.
Jadson himself denies any physical assault. During questioning, he admitted there was an argument but insisted that no force was used.
