Former Boca Juniors player Fernando Cáceres accused of involvement in wife’s death
Former Boca Juniors and Valencia footballer Fernando Cáceres is facing accusations related to the death of his wife, Raquel Candia, Daily Mail reports, citing Argentine media. Candia tragically fell to her death from the 7th-floor apartment where the couple lived together.
Cáceres, who has been wheelchair-bound since 2009 after suffering a gunshot wound to the head during an attempted carjacking, is now being scrutinized following allegations from Candia’s family. They assert that she did not jump from the balcony voluntarily.
"Fernando Cáceres always mistreated her, he's a bad person. It's inhumane," claimed Raquel's brother.
At the time of the incident, Cáceres was reportedly in the apartment. Police discovered him sitting on the bed with blood stains and traces of hair on his clothing, further deepening suspicions.
Authorities have launched an investigation, and while no specific conclusions have been drawn, Cáceres remains under suspicion as part of the ongoing inquiry.
