Former Barcelona forward Martin Braithwaite intends to purchase the Spanish football club Espanyol, according to Marca.
The Danish player manages several businesses, including a real estate company in the US, a restaurant in Gavá, and a clothing line, which places him on Forbes' list of wealthiest footballers. The 33-year-old is seriously considering buying the Catalan club.
It is worth noting that Braithwaite had a strained relationship with Espanyol's current owners. Last summer, they did not release him when he wanted to move to a La Liga club. Braithwaite played for Espanyol last season, appearing in 45 matches and scoring 22 goals. In the summer, he joined Brazilian club Grêmio as a free agent, but has yet to make his debut.
