Former Bafana Bafana player offers advice on Nabi’s goalkeeper solution in Kaizer Chiefs
Last season, Kaizer Chiefs had problems in the goalkeeper position, as main player Bruce Bvuma suffered criticism in the press. But former Bafana Bafana player Shu-Aib Walters has suggested a solution.
Details: Ex-goalkeeper doesn’t think that Kaizer Chiefs can currently find a suitable player on the South African market, but notes that a foreign player would also need time to adapt to the Betway Premiership. Therefore, Amakhosi should consider Darren Keet for his experience, though he wouldn't be a long-term solution.
Quote: "Petersen is still finding his feet, so if I were Chiefs, I would definitely keep him. I'm not sure if Bvuma is a long-term solution. Bontle Molefe hasn’t had any minutes and hasn’t been given an opportunity. Fiacre Ntwari, when you're signing a goalkeeper, you shouldn't sign someone who has only had one good season.
In the case of Chiefs, if they are going to bring in a goalkeeper now, who will they get? A foreign goalkeeper might need at least six months to settle into a new country. Currently, I don't see anyone of Kaizer Chiefs’ quality in South Africa. Club should consider Darren Keet for his experience, though he wouldn't be a long-term solution”, shares Walters in an interview with KickOff.com.
