Former Arsenal Striker Emmanuel Adebayor Criticises Jose Mourinho Over Vinicius Junior Racism Comments
Former Arsenal forward Emmanuel Adebayor has publicly disagreed with Jose Mourinho following the Portuguese manager’s recent remarks regarding the alleged racist abuse directed at Vinicius Junior.
Adebayor, who previously played under Mourinho during their time at Real Madrid, made it clear that he does not share his former manager’s stance on the sensitive issue. Speaking in an interview with BeIN Sports, the former Arsenal striker stressed that racism has no place in football or society at large.
“I think Mourinho was wrong, and for the first time, I’ll never agree with Mourinho on this,” Adebayor told BeIN Sports.
“There is no place for racism in football, sports and in everyday life.
“If you’re not allowed to go by the corner flag and dance, then there is no point because these are the things that bring joy to footballers.”
