Reports indicate that the regulation review was prompted by a recent controversy involving Vinícius Júnior and Achraf Hakimi. Both players were not allowed to answer questions in Spanish during a press conference, sparking widespread reaction among fans and journalists.

After discussing the situation, FIFA's management decided to ease the language restrictions. Players can now freely use Spanish when speaking to the press if they feel it is the most comfortable option for them. The new rules have already come into effect and will remain in place until the end of the tournament.
