Matchroom head Eddie Hearn has explained why former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua will not step into the ring against Tyson Fury.

Quote: “Anthony will never forgive himself if he misses the opportunity to win the heavyweight world title. And for what? To wait for Fury? What if one of them gets injured? Or if Fury loses, and the fight ends up being without a title on the line?

We can arrange that matchup in the future. Right now, he has a chance to become world champion, and that title is almost within his grasp. He just needs to win, and it will be very close. Everything else is just an illusion,” Hearn stated to Seconds Out.

Recall: in September, Joshua lost by knockout in the fifth round to Daniel Dubois.

Additionally, Chinese heavyweight Zhang Zhilei strongly advises Joshua against a rematch with Dubois following his loss in the first fight.
