For the first time since 1962. Scheffler won the Travelers Champ and set a unique achievement
Last weekend, from June 20-23, the latest PGA-level tournament, the Travelers Championship, took place.
The champion of this tournament was American golfer Scottie Scheffler. The world's top player finished the Travelers Championship at -22 under par, the same score achieved by Tom Kim. The final round went into a playoff, where Scheffler secured the victory on the first hole, clinching the title.
For Scottie Scheffler, this marks his sixth title in the current PGA Tour season. Moreover, he is the first golfer since 1962 to win this many titles by early July in a calendar year. Additionally, Scottie Scheffler matched an achievement set by Tiger Woods, winning six PGA Tour titles in a single season while being ranked as the world's number one player.
This victory also represents his sixth win in the last ten tournaments for Scheffler.
